METHOD OF OIL AND GAS TRANSPORTATION

A method for transportation and storage of oil and gas, or condensate and gas, particularly for transportation of gas from a production site to a remote terminal. Hydrate-forming gas and water are combined in a pressure reactor of the liquid phase type or gas phase type to form gas hydrate, whereupon the gas hydrate is dried and refrigerated and optionally subjected to post-treatment to reinforce the hydrate against decomposition. A separate and preferably water-free oil phase, alternatively a condensate phase, is refrigerated and mixed with gas hydrate to produce a substantially homogeneous slurry of hydrate in oil or condensate. Gas and oil/condensate can then be transported in one single unit at atmospheric pressure and temperatures below 0 DEG C and at substantially adiabatic conditions.
