A roller (100) with controllable deflection is provided with a revolving hollow roller (1) and a non-rotating crosshead (10) which crosses the hollow roller along its length. Support elements (8) follow one another in close succession on the crosshead (10) in an axially parallel row and can all be actuated independently of one another by a pressure medium. The supply lines (13) are mounted via angle pieces (15) on a rod-shaped carrier (30), the latter being secured on the crosshead (11) by screws (25) capable of being actuated from outside. The screws (25) are provided with longitudinal bores (26) through which the corresponding supply line (13) is directly connected to the corresponding support element (8) (Fig. 1a).
