Filler body block for forming a solid bed, drop body or immersion body for the biological treatment of fluids, esp. waste water, comprises tubes in a case, so that the case surface comprises a lattice of tube ends. The tubes are held together by welding type material connectors (21). The novelty is that the connectors (21) are bonded at the back end of the tubes (20) at least to the inner dia. of the tubes. Also claimed is a process to assemble the tubes, by a heat-welding process, where the ends of the tubes are subjected to inner pressure which brings the ends of adjacent tubes together by plastic deformation. |
