Suspended overhead power lines 1 are separated from each other by spacer units 2 that are secured with the aid of clamps 4 that have two main parts 6,6'. Each part has a curved section at one end that fits around the cable and has interlocking parts 12,12' at the other end. The spacer is in the form of a bar with a looped end 3 that is held captive by the interlocking form of the clamp. O-rings 23 avoid metal-to-metal contact. The clamp halves are secured with a centre bolt.
