Motor vehicle folding roof closure and locking device

A closing and locking device for the folding roof of a car which is tensioned when closed against the windshield frame by two such devices at the front end on each corner, has the driven part inside the front end hoop of the roof and the fixed part on or inside the windshield frame. The driven part is moved by an electric motor inside or on the front hoop. The devices are formed by sliding members in the outriggers of the front part of the roof frame. They extend over the whole length of the outriggers and are formed out of flat material blanks standing on edge with wedge-shaped locking parts on the edges and supported by bearing pedestals on the outriggers.
