The connector has a plug housing (1) divided internally by a number of partition walls to provide a number of compartments, each receiving a respective female terminal. A short-circuit plate (60) having a coupling section and a number of adjacent contact sections cooperates with the latter terminals to provide a branch circuit. The sidewalls of the housing compartments each have a terminal finger (1d) with a projection engaging an opening in the inserted terminal released by insertion of a tool along an angled face (1h) adjacent the front end of each terminal finger.
