Separation centrifuge with rotor imbalance detection system

The centrifuge has a rotor (1) for receiving a sample which is coupled to a rotary drive unit (2), with the difference between the actual rotor position and a reference position detected and evaluated for controlling the drive unit. Pref. the signal representing the difference between the actual rotor position and the reference position is evaluated by a microprocessor for detecting the rotor imbalance for corresponding control of the drive unit.
