Table column and support connector

A profile (3) fitted to the table etc column (1) has a lengthways hollow chamber (4) with tapered outlet slot (5). A clamping shoe (6) joined to the table etc support (2) can be moved positively into the profile chamber (4) via a head (7) whose neck (8) is narrower than the chamber slot. The head (8) can be expanded outwards by cone elements (9,10) so as to clamp into the profile chamber. Chamber and shoe neck (8) are both circular and the top lid (11) of the profile is centrally drilled out (12) to admit the lid pin (13). The cone elements include a threaded bolt with conical head (9) and a conical nut (10), using the lid (11) to screw the nut onto the bolt. A threaded bolt (13) at the top end of the column is used to fix the profile in place as against the bottom end of the column which is fitted with a height-adjustable adjuster (16). Support (2) and shoe (6) are integrally die-cast in Al as compared with the extruded Al profile.
