A chair (30) comprises an integrally formed shell (32) having a horizontal portion (42) and a vertical portion (44). A seat pan (34) is supported on resilient arms (46, 50) formed integrally with the shell (32). A pair of independently flexible arms (54) of the vertical shell portion (44) are formed integrally with shoulder support members (56). The resilience of the shoulder support arms (56) and seat pan support arms (46, 50) provides a chair (30) which is highly passive to the body movements of the user.
