Optically active (2-fluoro acyl)benzenes of formula (I) are new: in which X and Y are different and = H or 1-12 C (cyclo)alkyl, opt. substd. by phenyl; or X or Y = phenyl; S<1>, S<2> = H or F; Z = linear 1-18 C (hydroxy)alkyl, in which individual CH2 gps. may be replaced by SiMe2 gps., cyclohexyl or phenyl, opt. 4-substd. by OH, linear 6-12 C (hydroxy)alkyl (in which individual CH2 gps. may be replaced by SiMe2 gps.), -OSO2CH3, -OCOCFXY or -OCOR<1>; R<1> = linear 1-12 C (hydroxy)alkyl or aryl, opt. 4-substd. by linear 6-18 C (hydroxy)alkyl, in which individual CH2 gps. may be replaced by SiMe2 gps.
