The invention concerns a printable formulation of a super-absorbent polymer and the application forms of the product, for example in cable insulation and non-woven fabric production. The formulation is preferably supplied in the form of a two-component pack comprising pre-cross-linked super-absorber and reactive cross-linking agent which are mixed on site to form the product. The resultant printing paste is pressed onto the carrier, e.g. a non-woven fabric. For cable-insulation purposes, the product is then incorporated in the cable in the conventional manner.
