<p>The network has n inputs and (n+p) outputs where p is at least two redundant circuits. There are b intermediate stages with nominal blocks joined by (b+1) interconnecting blocks. 2a is the smallest integer which equals or exceeds p and b is defined by c which is a positive number not exceeding 2a equalling (n - 2ab). Each nominal block is a chain of two switches, with each connected to an input and output. Each redundant block may be a simple output, a switch with input, output and neutral contacts or one input and two outputs. The interconnecting blocks have 2a contacts and switches allowing any combination of switches to connect to any other combination of switches.</p> |
