Petroleum jelly with alpha-hydroxy carboxylic acids

Cosmetic compsn. comprises (by wt.): 50-98% petroleum jelly (I), 0.01-20% 2-20C alpha -hydroxy carboxylic acid (II) (opt. in salt form), 0.1-10% phosphatide, and 0-15% water. The compsns. contain 60-95 (esp. 75-90) wt.% petroleum jelly, 4-10 wt.% phosphatide (esp. lecithin), 4-10 wt.% water, and opt. 0.1-10 wt.% of a sterol and/or 0.1-10 wt.% of a 10-22C fatty acid.
