A system is disclosed for transmitting messages from a message-sending telephonic device (7) acoustically coupled to a transportable signal generating module (1) to a message-receiving device (6). The signal generating module (1) contains a storage unit for storing information units and an acoustic transducer (9) for converting the information units read out of the storage unit into acoustic analogue signals for the telephonic device (7). The messages to be transmitted are stored as information units in the storage unit of the signal generating module (1). The receiver device (6) contains a processing unit (11) that automatically processes the received messages.
