A composite molded product has a frame body 1 comprising a thermoplastic resin and having a through hole and a button portion 2 comprising a thermoplastic elastic material. The button portion 2 has a pressing portion 3 provided in the through hole and a flange portion 4 which is fused to the frame body. Also, at the joining portion of said frame body and the flange portion and adjacent to an opening portion of said through hole, a silicone resin layer 5 is provided. A method of manufacturing the composite molded product comprises (a) the step of molding a thermoplastic resin such as polycarbonate by a first mold, (b) the step of forming a silicone resin layer on the surface of the thermoplastic resin molded product, and (c) the step of subjecting to fusion bonding of a thermoplastic elastic material such as a styrene series elastomer by a second mold onto the surface of said thermoplastic resin molded product to which said silicone resin layer is formed as well as molding to a predetermined shape. The above composite molded product can give a large stroke when the pressing portion 3 is pressed and can be effectively used as a button for electric devices. |
