PURPOSE:To prevent completely the attachment of the wear powder to a magnetic head by defining the minimum distance C between the center of the head in its thickness direction and the edge of a window for attachment of the head in its height direction and dividing the C by a half H of the thickness of the magnetic head to obtain epsilon to satisfy epsilon>=10. CONSTITUTION:The dimensional form of a magnetic head attachment window 7 is limited to secure an ideal contact between a magnetic head 5 and a magnetic tape 1. Thus an element is detected from the dimension itself of the window 7 to improve greatly the characteristics of the head 5. In case the actions of the tape 1 are logically analyzed at a place near the head 5, a partial differential equation showing a tape deformation is defined as shown here when the tape deformation amount is referred to as w (x, y) is the normal line direction of the tape surface. In this case, (h), E, mu, (r), TO, F and delta mean the thickness of the tape 1, a Young's modulus, a Poisson ratio, the radius of a rotary member, the tape tension, the concentrated power affecting the tape and a Dirac's delta-function, respectively. Then the answer of said differential equation is obtained as a Green function. Thus the tape deformation is simulated. |
