Device and method for determining the temporal behaviour of a transient phenomenon

The device includes a laser which delivers a beam focused by an optical system (4) and transmitted through an optical fibre (3). The beam is incident on the transparent wall of a tube (2) which contains the medium analysed. A fluorescent tracer sensitive to the laser beam wavelength is injected in the tube. A dichroic mirror separates the incident beam from the light generated by the excited tracer the latter being directed towards a filtering system and a photomultiplier.
