PURPOSE: To detect the presence and extent of air leak from piping system of automatic dispenser prior to the dispensation work without requiring any visual decision. CONSTITUTION: A nozzle base is fixed with a disposable chip 36 which sucks distilled water 92 and then the inner pressure P1 of piping is measured while sustaining the forward end of chip in the distilled water and the extent of leakage is determined by comparing the difference between inner pressure P1 and the atmospheric pressure P0 with a reference level A. The chip 36 is then lifted above the liquid level (S109) and the inner pressure P2 of piping is monitored under that state. If the piping is leaky, the liquid leaks from the forward end of chip and the inner pressure P2 of piping fluctuates. Pressure variation within a predetermined time is then checked and when any pressure variation is detected, the extent of leakage is determined based on the time elapsed before the pressure variation is detected. Thereafter, the distilled water is delivered and the chip is disposed. |
