PURPOSE: To provide an image forming apparatus which is provided with a plurality of functions and with which selection operation for proposed choices in a plurality of stages is easily carried out in the case where a plurality of proposed choices are set in multi-stages when parameters corresponding to respective functions of it are to be set. CONSTITUTION: The image forming apparatus is composed of a control panel unit 111 to assign a function visually recognized on each displaying body by operating the switches of a plurality of the displaying bodies displayed on a display, a memory 109 to hierarchically stare displaying body switch data to be displayed on a display behind a display body switch assigned by the control panel unit 111, a memory 109 to store the frequency of the use of each displaying body switch, and a control panel unit CPU 108 which carries out positioning of the displaying body switch stored in the memory 109 to be displayed on the display after the displaying body switch is operated by the control panel unit 111 based on the frequency stored in the memory 109. |
