PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit an easier access to a hemostasis gasket by making a catheter assembly comprising two elements each having a hub disposed at the proximal end thereof, making the threads of the hubs engageable with each other, and providing means for preventing accidental rotational disengagement. SOLUTION: A catheter assembly 10 comprises a dilator element 20 having a hub 21 and an introducer element 30 comprising a hub 31. The introducer hub 31 comprises a gasket for hemostasis disposed at the proximal end of the hub 31 and a leg 40 for side arm injection. The dilator element 20 has a dilator 22, and a threaded portion 27 formed on the distal planar surface of the hub 2 1 is screwed to the threaded portion 37 formed on the inner face of lumen 35 in the introducer containing an introducer sheath 32. Further, at least one recess 39 is formed radially on the proximal planar surface 36 of hub 31, and a projecting portion disposed at the distal end of the hub 21 is engaged with the recess 39 so as to attain the rotational fixation. |
