PURPOSE: To provide a video-on-demand system capable of realizing a video-on- demand using an optical transmission line at a low cost and preventing a displayed video from being deteriorated. CONSTITUTION: A station 20 is provided with multiplex means 22, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 30 which perform the frequency division multiplexing of the video signals of plural channels by making the vertical synchronization of the video signals coincide and send them to each subscriber. A subscriber terminal 38 is provided with a control signal sending means 42 which sends the video signal that is a request from the subscriber to the station 20 in a frequency band different from that of the video signal and also, in the vertical blanking period of the video signal. |
