PURPOSE: To obtain a battery charge controller for electric automobile in which the battery can be charged appropriately while suppressing fluctuation in the charging current and voltage. CONSTITUTION: In the battery charge controller for controlling the charger 2 of a battery 22 in an electric automobile, charging current of the battery 22 is detected by a current detector 23. When the charging current detected by the current detector 23 during constant current charging operation deviates from a predetermined range centering about a target level, the constant current charging operation is switched to a constant voltage charging operation where the fluctuation of charging voltage is controlled within a predetermined range. |
