发明名称 SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CALCULATING PRESENT LOCATION
摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a present location calculating system which can accurately judge the present location of its own vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A controller 18 calculates the traveling distance of its own vehicle by detecting the traveling azimuth of the vehicle and a virtual present location which is presumed to be the present location of the vehicle from the traveling azimuth and traveling distance of the vehicle. Then the controller l selects such road data that their angular deviations from the traveling azimuth of the vehicle are equal to or smaller than a threshold and their lengths are equal to or shorter than a prescribed value from among the road data described within the range of a prescribed distance from the virtual present location by comparing the virtual present location with the road data contained in map data and calculates candidate points indicating that the vehicle travels along one road contained in the selected road data. Then the controller 18 calculates the reliability of the candidate points indicating the certainty of the points and determines the point having the highest reliability as the present location of the vehicle.
