PURPOSE: To certainly detect the residual amt. of ink in an ink jet recording apparatus on the basis of emission data. CONSTITUTION: When the count value of a counter 104 counting emission data is read in order to calculate the residual amt. of the ink of an ink tank, a reading signal CPURD* is sent out to the tri-state buffer 105 holding the count value of the counter 104 but, at this time, this reading signal is simultaneously inputted to a circuit 102 through a decoder 101 to stop the input of the emission data SI to the counter 104. As a result, when the counter value held by the tri-state buffer 105 is sent out to a CPU, counting is stopped to stabilize reading. |
