PURPOSE: To obtain a natural image pickup screen by preventing the change in brightness (change in storage time) of a reproduced screen due to hand-shake correction. CONSTITUTION: The X, Y address type solid-state image pickup device having hand-shake correction function is provided with a read vertical scanner 15 reading sequentially picture element information for each scanning line while being in vertical scanning and deciding a vertical position in an image pickup area in a light receiving face based on hand-shake information and with an electronic shutter scanner 16 resetting a picture element transistor 11 in response to a vertical position of the image pickup area in a prescribed storage time whose upper limit is set shorter than a time equivalent to one field and with a timing generator 17 providing scanning clocksϕVCK,ϕSCK and start pulsesϕVS,ϕSS to the scanners 15, 16 and controlling a generating timing of the start pulsesϕVS,ϕSS based on hand-shake information from an acceleration sensor 18.
