PURPOSE: To automatically correct position deviation between ultrasonic images caused by hand shake when fetching plural two-dimensional ultrasonic images while moving an ultrasonic probe to form a three-dimensional ultrasonic image. CONSTITUTION: Concerning two adjacent ultrasonic images, correlation values are successively calculated while successively shifting a rear image (image (b)) in (x) and (y) directions with respect to a front image (image (a)). The amount of shift is specified corresponding to the position, where the correlation value is maximum, and the position of the rear image is corrected in the (x) and (y) directions so as to be matched with the front image. Even when the rear image is rotated with respect to the front image, the similar correction based on a correlation value function is enabled. |
