摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a measurement device for a signal error rate of a high speed high density optical pulse train. CONSTITUTION: A modulation signal used to apply intensity modulation to a laser beam is branched and the branched signal is fed to an electric short pulse generator 21 consisting of Schottky diodes and inductors formed to be a ladder from which a standard signal being an electric short pulse train is generated, the electric short pulse train passing through an electric delay circuit 22 to take synchronism with an optical pulse train sent through a long distance and the optical pulse train sent through a long distance are led to an optical waveguide optical intensity modulator 23. Then coincident optical pulses with the electric pulses are extinguished, only optical pulses not coincident with the electric pulses are converted into an electric signal by a photoelectric converter 24, a low speed electric signal is processed by a signal processing unit 25 to obtain the signal error rate.
