PURPOSE: To improve focus characteristics in the whole current amount area of an electron beam with a simple structure so as to obtain excellent resolution, and reduce moire in a small current area by forming a fixed non-uniform electric field in a deflection magnetic field so as to compensate the deflection of the electron beam. CONSTITUTION: When such a non-uniform electric field as a spacing becomes narrower with parting from a symmetry axis Z-Z is produced in a deflection magnetic field in the electron gun of a color cathode-ray tube, the excess deflection of such an electron beam 63 as passing a part apart from an electric field center, in which a deflection amount is increased by the deflection magnetic field, is compensated. Thereby, focus characteristics in the whole current area of the electron beam are heighten without applying a dynamic focus voltage so as to improve resolution, and also the occurrence of moire in a small current area can be suppressed. |
