PURPOSE: To sterilize and inactivate or oxidize microorganisms such as bacteria or viruses, ammonia, bilirubin, a poison, etc., present in tap water and sewerage water, blood, blood plasma, blood serum components, seawater and other solutions. CONSTITUTION: Blood of a human body is led out of a blood vessel to the outside of the human body or a lymph is led out of a lymphatic vessel thereto. The resultant blood or lymph is extracorporeally circulated. A voltage within the range so as not cause electrolysis or a higher voltage than that without causing the electrolysis is applied to the extracorporeally circulating blood or blood plasma component or lymph. Thereby, viruses in the humor such as the blood or lymph are inactivated by direct actions of the voltage or current or an indirect influence such as chlorine produced by the electrolysis. |
