PURPOSE: To conduct carrying-in/out work corresponding to a change in conveying flow rate of one or a plurality of articles to be conveyed while storing them by mounting them on a supporting arm by the vertical movement of an elevating unit for elevating conveyance. CONSTITUTION: A supporting arm 5 mounting a container 2 to be conveyed for forward feed up or down conveyance. At the time of elevating the container 2, a pair of supporting arms 5 approach each other to mount the container 2. At the time of lowering movement for receiving the container 2 from a second conveyance carriage 7, or rising movement after delivering the container 2 to the second conveyance carriage 7, a pair of supporting arms 5 separate from each other, so that interference with the container 2 on the second conveyance carriage 7 is avoided for elevating. It is thus possible to convey a plurality of containers 2 for each of prescribed quantity. It is also possible to conduct conveyance with priority order of first-in first-out and storage work.
