PURPOSE: To drive a focus lens at a light load, in the automatic focusing and to apply an adequate load, in the manual focusing, for improving operability by providing a rotational resistance applying means for imparting the rotational resistance of a focusing ring. CONSTITUTION: This lens barrel for an automatic focusing camera is provided with a rotational resistance applying mechanism 90 for imparting adequate rotational resistance to an AF(automatic force)-MF(manual focusing) switching ring 31 in manual focusing operation, so that the rotational resistance of the focusing ring 15, when it is connected to the AF-MF switching ring 31 is made higher than that when the focusing ring 15 is connected to an AF driving system. Moreover, the rotational resistance (rotary operation physical focusing) is in proportion to frictional force, this frictional force is in proportion to the energizing force of a coil spring 13 and this energizing force is set by spring force by the tightening of a control ring 94. Therefore, the tightening of the control ring 94 is adjusted to impart the most suitable rotary operation physical force to the AF-MF switching ring 31, that is, the focusing ring 15, in the manual focusing. |
