PURPOSE: To provide a present location calculating system which can more accurately calculate the present location of the vehicle having the system when the vehicle turns to the left or right. CONSTITUTION: A processor 18 generates a virtual present location which is presumed to be the present location of its own vehicle, based on the relative displacement of the vehicle found on the basis of the traveling azimuth and traveling distance of the vehicle and candidates points indicating whether or not the vehicle travels along a road. In addition, the processor 18 generates candidate points indicating that the vehicle travels along a road by comparing the virtual present location and road data and, when the processor 18 detects that the vehicle turns to the left or right, based on the above-mentioned traveling azimuth, the processor 18 corrects the positions of the candidate positions in accordance with the width of the road along which the vehicle has traveled before the vehicle turns to the left or right. |
