PURPOSE: To prevent seizure of an outer gear outer peripheral surface by reliev ing an outer gear from being pressed to the suction side from the delivery side in an internal gear type oil pump. CONSTITUTION: Ribs 21 and 22 are arranged on an opening surface of a delivery port 14 on the pump cover 5 side to expose an outer gear outer peripheral surface 20. The ribs 21 and 22 are overhung in the port 14 so as to block up an exposed part of the outer gear outer peripheral surface 20 in the port 14 on both ends. A clearanceγis left between the ribs 21 and 22, and here, the outer gear outer peripheral surface is exposed in the port 14, and an exposed circumferential lengthγof the outer gear outer peripheral surface in the port 14 is in 5 deg. to 30 deg. by being converted into an angleδaround the outer gear rotational center Oo . The pressure distribution of the outer gear outer peripheral surface changes by restriction on the exposed circumferential length of the outer gear outer peripheral surface, and force to press an outer gear to the suction side from the delivery side is reduced.
