PURPOSE: To test respective firmware parts in an input/output controller and confirm their operations not through a central processing unit by simulating interface processing operations by using CPU interface simulation firmware. CONSTITUTION: With a switch 27 mounted on the input/output controller 21, the CPU interface simulation firmware 23 is actuated. Commands and data from a terminal 28 for debugging are inputted to the input/output controller 21. Data processing in the respective firmware parts, a processing for data transfer between the CPU interface simulation firmware 23 and firmware 24 for input/output control, a processing controlling a peripheral device 26 by sending and receiving data between the firmware 24 for input/output control and peripheral device control firmware 25, and a composite processing wherein respective processes are combined are performed. Then processing results and memory data in the input/output controller 21 are outputted to and displayed on a terminal 28, thus conducting the tests and confirming operations. |
