Production of oxygen by ion transport membranes with steam utilization

O2 contg. gas is heated and compressed and hot pressurised feed obtd. fed to a membrane sepn. zone comprising at least one O2 selective ion transport membrane. The zone is divided into feed and permeate sides by the membrane(s) and the feed flows through the feed side to produce O2 permeate gas prod. on the permeate side and hot O2 depleted non-permeate gas on th feed size for withdrawal. H2O is introduced into the non-permeate gas and the resulting H2O contg. gas passed through an expansion turbine to generate shaft power and an exhaust gas withdrawn.
