<p>The invention relates to a self-tapping screw, in particular for thermoplastics, having a large ratio between external diameter and core diameter, a small flank angle and a small ratio between external diameter and axial spacing between the thread turns, between which circular, non-cylindrical core sections are arranged. In order further to develop the screw such that it can be subjected to higher loadings in the axial direction, the invention proposes that, starting from the root line (10) of one adjacent thread flank (7) and running in the direction of, and as far as, the root line (9) of the respectively other adjacent thread flank (6), each core section (5) tapers over its entire length.</p> |
