The invention relates to a device for mounting emergency storage batteries, having a U-shaped retaining frame, especially of steel, in which one or more batteries (1) are arranged in series, the free U-limbs of the retaining frame (2) being connected to one another by tension rods (7). In order to propose an improved device for mounting batteries, which withstands vibration stresses and shaking initiated, for example, by earthquakes, and which avoids every mechanical stress of the battery housing, by bracing, according to the invention it is proposed that the batteries be held in the retaining frame (2) by positively locking parts (4) which are arranged between the U-limbs of the retaining frame (2) and the batteries (1).
