<p>A data processing apparatus for a factory automated controller 1 comprises a first control unit 8, which commands the collection of data from a plurality of upper or lower controllers 3, 31; and a second control unit 9 which exchanges data with the upper and lower controller in response to a command issued by the first control unit 8. The second control unit 9 includes a memory 18 for storing, in advance of the issue of a command by the first control unit 8, data or a data processing instruction identifying a manner in which data collected from the upper or lower controller is to be processed. A two-port memory 16 is also provided for enabling transfer of information, including the command, between the said first control unit 8 and the second control unit 9.</p> |
