Compounds of general formula (I) wherein A is N or CR3; Z is O or S; R1 and R2 are each H, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, C1-C6 haloalkoxy, C1-C6 haloalkyl or the like; R3 is H, C1-C6 alkyl or the like; R4 and R5 are each H, optionally substituted C1-C6 alkyl, C3-C7 cycloalkyl, C1-C6 haloalkyl or the like; R6 is H, optionally substituted C1-C6 alkyl, C3-C7 cycloalkyl, C1-C6 haloalkyl, acyl, tri(C1-C6 alkyl)silyl or the like; and y1 to y8 are each H or C1-C6 alkyl. The compounds exhibit an excellent herbicidal activity, and compositions containing the same are useful as herbicides.
