PURPOSE: To obtain the subject molding by reacting and molding a reaction stock solution by using a specific transition metal compound as a catalyst, not substantially containing an unsaturated bond, excellent in heat resistance and mechanical characteristics, useful as a bumper of an automobile, etc. CONSTITUTION: In casting a reaction stock solution into a mold and polymerizing it in a mold, at least (A) a reaction stock solution containing a transition metal compound of the group 10 and (B) a reaction stock solution containing a cocatalyst are used in the reaction stock solution and at least one reaction stock solution contains a norbornene-based monomer of the formula (R<1> to R<12> are each H, a halogen, OH, amino, a 1-12C organic group and R<5> and R<7> may form a ring; n is >=0) to give the objective molding. A halogen atom- containing Lewis acid or a compound (e.g. ethylaluminum dichloride, etc.) to be reacted with a transition metal to form an ionic complex is preferably used as the component B. |
