A deformable die for production of articles from an agglomeration of powdered material by compression includes two rigid members and a resilient member clamped therebetween, the members being shaped to define an aperture through the die to receive article-forming rams, the wall of the aperture in the resilient member constituting the wall of the mould part of the die. The resilient member 4 is clamped between the upper rigid member 1, 2 and the lower rigid member 3 and its inner surface " trued ", the material 7 being moulded between upper and lower rams 9, 8. The upper rigid member is formed of two parts 1, 2, the part 2 being secured against rotation by pins 5 so that the resilient member 4 may be compressed by the upper rigid member without any twisting effect as part 1 is screwed downwardly against the lower rigid member 3. |
