PURPOSE: To obtain a biodegradable nonwoven fabric excellent in bulkiness and water absorption properties and having sufficient mechanical properties for practical use by mixing a natural fiber and a modified cross-section short fiber of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester and partially bonding the mixture by point pressure welding. CONSTITUTION: A natural fiber and a modified cross-section short fiber of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester are mixed to form a web, and the web is partially bonded by a point pressure welding process such as an emboss processing, an ultrasonic melt adhesion treatment, etc. The obtained nonwoven fabric is excellent even in flexibility and has an improved biodegradability owing to the mixing of the natural fiber (preferably, at the mixing ratio of 10-70wt.%). |
