FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: drive unit for vehicles has engine and gear box, hydrodynamic brake-reducer, which is continuously kinematically connected with engine, and cooling liquid circuit, with cooling liquid serving simultaneously as working fluid for brake-reducer, which may be used as pump for cooling liquid. Brake-reducer is positioned before gear box and may be connected, together with engine brake, to form general brake shoe. During braking, brake-reducer is actuated before engine brake. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and enhanced reliability in operation. |
