FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention is dealing with production of zinc oxide from various zinc-containing process materials: zinc sublimates from copper-smelting production, zinc dust from gas purification plants, blast furnace scrubbing zinc- containing slimes, etc. Liberation of zincate solution from silica is performed by introducing calcium oxide in the stage of initial zinc-containing material leaching, and decomposition of silicon- free solution is achieved as follows. Solution is first partially decomposed to isolate admixtures on partially separated zinc oxide in presence of initiating additive. Then "impure" zinc oxide is separated and additionally purified solution is decomposed in presence of initiator to produce pure target product. EFFECT: increased purity of product and simplified process. |
