PURPOSE: To prevent the yellowing of a background and to enhance light fastness, in a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer containing an electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive compd. is provided on a support, by adding a polyvalent metal salt of a salicylic acid derivative and a specific benzotriazole ultraviolet absorber to the recording layer. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer containing an electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive compd. is provided on a support, a polyvalent metal salt of a salicylic acid derivative and a benzotriazole ultraviolet absorber represented by formula I (R<1> and R<2> may be same or different and is a 1-8C alkyl group) are added to the thermal recording layer. As the electron acceptive compd, the polyvalent metal salt of the salicylic acid derivative represented by formula II (R<3> is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group or an aryloxy group, M is Zn, Ca or Al, m is an integer of 1-4 and n is an integer of 2 or 3) is added. |
