PURPOSE: To rescue passengers through a normal door even when the brake of a counterweight fails. CONSTITUTION: A rope 3 suspending a passenger cage 2 is connected at its one end to a rope effective length extending/drawing device 4. Thus, when a counterweight 6 does not move due to failure of a brake 8, the cage 2 is moved to a position of a normal floor door by extending or taking up rope in the rope effective length extending/drawing device 4. Accordingly, passengers are rapidly rescued through a normal door. |
