<p>PURPOSE: To perform an abnormal load detection conformed to the service condition of a machine tool by installing a comparing means which selects an abnormal load detecting level according to the operating state of this machine tool. CONSTITUTION: In a judgment of step S1, when a machine tool perform feed operation at an automatic operation mode, further the judgment of whether operation in the automatic operation mode is rapid traverse operation or cutting feed operation is carried out (step S3). When the machine tool performs the rapid traverse operation, an abnormal load detecting level at the time of the rapid traverse is set (step S4) as a comparing level in a comparing means, and the comparative processing of the load value detected by a load detecting means with this comparing level as the threshold value is carried out. In addition, when the machine tool performs cutting feed operation, the abnormal load detecting level at the time of this cutting feed operation is set as a comparing level in the comparing means (step S5), and the comparative processing of the load value detected by the load detecting means with this comparing level as the threshold value is carried out.</p> |
