A process for the prodn. of an aromatic acetylene of formula Ar-C IDENTICAL C-R8a (I) comprises reacting an halo-aromatic or aryl-sulphonate of formula Ar-X (II) with an acetylene of formula HC IDENTICAL CR8a (III) in presence of a Pd cpd. of formula (IV) as catalyst. Ar = a phenyl (substd. R1 to R5) or naphthyl (substd. R1 to R7); R1-R7 = H, 1-8C alkyl, alkoxy or acyloxy, OPh, Ph, F, Cl, Br, OH, NO2, CN, COOH, CHO, SO3H, SO2R, SOR, NH2, NH(1-12C alkyl), N(1-12C alkyl)2, C-Hal3, NHCO(1-8C alkyl), CO(1-8C alkyl), COO(1-12C alkyl), CONH2, CO(1-12C alkyl), NHCOH, NCOO(1-8C alkyl), COPh, COOPh, CHCHCOO(1-12C alkyl), CHCHCOOH, POPh2, PO(1-8C alkyl)2, or 5- or 6-ring heteroaryl; R8a = H, 1-12C alkyl, SiMe3, CH2OH, CMe2OH or Ar; R1-R6 = H, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, F, NH2, NH(1-4C alkyl), N(1-4C alkyl)2, COO(1-4C alkyl), OCO(1-4C alkyl) or Ph; R1+R2, R2+R3, R3+R4, R5+R6 = an aliphatic or aromatic ring; R7, R8 = 1-8C alkyl, 3-12C cycloalkyl or opt. substd. aryl; Y = anion of an inorganic or organic acid. |
