FIELD: new methods and plants for fighting fires of difficult to extinguish glowing fire seats, such as fires of cables, for instance, in upper zones of rooms where walls adjoin the ceiling. SUBSTANCE: first, at the initial stage, fire is fought with the aid of, at least, one of misty jet of fluid having comparably large drops and good penetrative ability, in order to, at least, suppress the fire and, then, at the second stage, used at the initial stage misty jet is dispersed by mixing with noncombustible gas at pressure to form turbulent liquid mist for filling the room of fire uniformly and for extinguishing glowing fire seats.
