PURPOSE: To obtain a newω-guanidino-L-α-amino acid amide derivative having anticoagulant action and useful as an anticoagulant agent. CONSTITUTION: This derivative is a compound of formula I ((n) is 1 or 2; R1 is NHR3 (R3 is an alkyl, etc.), etc.; R2 is H or a 1-5C alkyl), e.g. 4-guanidino- N<2> -(1, 2,3,4-tetrahydro-3-methylquinoline-8--sulfonyl)-L-2-aminobutanoylglycine. The subject compound of formula I can be produced by reducing a compound of formula II (Q is 8-quinolyl, etc.) in an organic solvent in the presence of a hydrogen-active catalyst (e.g. Raney nickel).
